Session 5 — Computation/structure-based design of immunogens and targeted delivery of biologics

Series: 2026 SITC Computational IO Series, session 5 of 10 Date: August 27, 2026, 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET Moderator: Riyue Bao, PhD — UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Faculty: M. Madan Babu, PhD — St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Recording: SITC OnDemand after delivery Status: Upcoming (two days out as of 2026-08-25)

What the session covers

Computational and structure-based design of immunogens, plus targeted delivery of biologics. Babu's group works on protein structure, intrinsically disordered regions, and receptor signalling — GPCRs in particular — so the talk is likely to be grounded in structural and sequence-based protein modelling rather than in a clinical cohort. Inferred from the speaker's field; confirm after delivery.

Why it matters to this corpus

  • The protein-ML axis in an IO frame. Immunogen design is a generative protein-structure problem; the corpus covers the general technology in protein-LM explainability and the broader adjacent-methods catalog.
  • Brackets session 9 — designing the antigen versus predicting what binds it are two ends of the same structural problem, and the series covers both.
  • Delivery of biologics connects to the therapeutic-modality material scaffolded in sitc-2026/trials/ and to the neoantigen-vaccine thread there.
