Watchlist — journals and news

Kept deliberately separate from the vaults.

Conferences are bounded: a meeting happens, produces a fixed set of abstracts or papers, and is done. Journals and news never close. Folding them into the same structure would mean either curating an unbounded stream to vault standard — which does not scale — or dropping vault standards to feed volume. Curated vaults and an aggregator feed are different products, and mixing them dilutes both.

So this page is an index of where to look, with the machine-readable endpoint recorded next to each entry. It is not a reading list and it is not summarized content.

Notes

  • bioRxiv (genomics + bioinformatics feeds) — Highest volume and highest noise in the registry. Filter hard. A preprint server has no PubMed abbreviation, so pubmed is null and this is the one journal source whose harvested status nothing can check.
  • STAT News — The feed serves 20 items, but it is WordPress and honours ?paged=N, so the same public feed walks backwards to the start of the window: 9,497 items across 2024-01..2026-08, evenly distributed — this layer's own span, which is narrower than the corpus's. Headlines and summaries only — the articles themselves are metered, which is why access is mixed and why nothing here should be cited as evidence. Broad health news; roughly one item in seven is on this corpus's subject matter.
  • Fierce Biotech — Forward-only, permanently. ?page=N, ?paged=N and ?offset=N all return a byte-identical 25-item document, and the sitemap is Cloudflare-gated and carries only lastmod. So this source contributes nothing before its first harvest on 2026-08-27 and its 2024–2026-07 months stay empty. Trap: it nests markup inside and <dc:creator>, so ElementTree's .text is empty and a naive parser yields 25 blank titles — use itertext().</li> <li><strong>AACR Blog</strong> — The only narrative record of AACR IO 2026 — meeting recaps land here. WordPress, so <code>?paged=N</code> backfills: 324 items across 2024-01..2026-08. Low volume and high hit rate, the inverse of STAT.</li> <li><strong>OncLive</strong> — Cloudflare-protected to automated fetchers</li> <li><strong>ACIR Weekly Digest (Cancer Research Institute)</strong> — Curated expert recap — high signal, low volume. Best news source here. 118 digests across 2024-01..2026-08, ~3.7/month. No feed at any path: /feed/, /rss, /atom.xml and /feed/rss2/ are 404, /weekly-digests/feed/ is 500, ?feed=rss2 silently serves the homepage, and the /wp-json/ routes 404 because the site is not the WordPress install those paths assume. The archive is the route instead — /weekly-digests/YYYY/<month>/ enumerates each week with its date, back to 2017. One digest is one row; the papers a digest cites are deliberately not expanded, because they belong to the journal index and expanding them would double-count.</li> <li><strong>Nature Briefing</strong> — Unharvestable, not merely unharvested. It is an email newsletter: the signup page exposes no RSS/Atom link and no Briefing feed URL resolves. Substituting nature.com journal feeds would be a different artefact wearing this source's name, so nothing is collected.</li> <li><strong>BioWorld</strong> — Maintains per-conference keyword feeds; paywalled</li> </ul> <h2 id="a-caution-about-volume">A caution about volume<a class="headerlink" href="#a-caution-about-volume" title="Permanent link">¶</a></h2> <p>The bioRxiv feed alone will outproduce every conference in this corpus combined, and most of it will be irrelevant. Filter hard before anything from this page earns a place in a vault. The highest-signal entry here is probably the ACIR Weekly Digest — curated by domain experts, low volume, immunotherapy-specific.</p> </article> </div> <script>var tabs=__md_get("__tabs");if(Array.isArray(tabs))e:for(var set of document.querySelectorAll(".tabbed-set")){var labels=set.querySelector(".tabbed-labels");for(var tab of tabs)for(var label of labels.getElementsByTagName("label"))if(label.innerText.trim()===tab){var input=document.getElementById(label.htmlFor);input.checked=!0;continue e}}</script> <script>var target=document.getElementById(location.hash.slice(1));target&&target.name&&(target.checked=target.name.startsWith("__tabbed_"))</script> </div> <button type="button" class="md-top md-icon" data-md-component="top" hidden> <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 24 24"><path d="M13 20h-2V8l-5.5 5.5-1.42-1.42L12 4.16l7.92 7.92-1.42 1.42L13 8z"/></svg> Back to top </button> </main> <footer class="md-footer"> <div class="md-footer-meta md-typeset"> <div class="md-footer-meta__inner md-grid"> <div class="md-copyright"> Made with <a href="https://squidfunk.github.io/mkdocs-material/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Material for MkDocs </a> </div> </div> </div> </footer> </div> <div class="md-dialog" data-md-component="dialog"> <div class="md-dialog__inner md-typeset"></div> </div> <script id="__config" type="application/json">{"annotate": null, "base": "../..", "features": ["navigation.tabs", "navigation.sections", "navigation.top", "navigation.instant", "navigation.tracking", "search.suggest", "search.highlight", "search.share", "content.code.copy", "content.tabs.link", "toc.follow"], "search": "../../assets/javascripts/workers/search.2c215733.min.js", "tags": null, "translations": {"clipboard.copied": "Copied to clipboard", "clipboard.copy": "Copy to clipboard", "search.result.more.one": "1 more on this page", "search.result.more.other": "# more on this page", "search.result.none": "No matching documents", "search.result.one": "1 matching document", "search.result.other": "# matching documents", "search.result.placeholder": "Type to start searching", "search.result.term.missing": "Missing", "select.version": "Select version"}, "version": null}</script> <script src="../../assets/javascripts/bundle.79ae519e.min.js"></script> <script src="../../javascripts/tabulator.min.js"></script> <script src="../../javascripts/posters.js"></script> <script src="../../javascripts/tools-table.js"></script> <script src="https://hypothes.is/embed.js"></script> </body> </html>
